Our faculty is comprised of medical professionals with extensive experience in wilderness medicine. Their professional affiliations include major teaching universities, The US Army, search and rescue teams, National Ski Patrol and the Wilderness Medical Society. Many of our faculty have taught Advanced Wilderness Life Support courses since its inception and have practiced wilderness medicine as both and avocation and occupations.
The accepted protocols for the treatment of injuries and illnesses in wilderness environments that have become part of the AWLS curriculum are the result of the many years of experience of our instructors and contributors.
