The class will be held at Maywoods Environmental and Educational Laboratory, a 1,700 acre natural area and wildlife refuge nestled in the Knobs Region of Kentucky. This area is a wildlife refuge with Lake Edmiston and self guided hiking trails. Come enjoy the natural beauty this area has to offer!
Course Description:

The AWLS curriculum consists of:

This 3-day course balances didactic lectures with hands-on instruction to most effectively train students in managing medical situations in austere environments. This course is designed for licensed medical professionals (MD, EMT, PA, NP, RN, etc) or medical professionals in training who have an interest in expanding their medical knowledge of wilderness medical pathology and in enhancing their practical skills in a wilderness environment.
CME Credit:
With the Advanced Wilderness Life Support certification students earn 20.5 hours of Category 1 CME, as well as Wilderness Medical Society Fellowship credit. Please note that the CME credit hours differ for traditional in person courses and hybrid courses.
