The Moccasin Lake Nature Park is 51-acres of boardwalks, ponds and oak that serve as the habitat for rehabilitating large raptors and their prey animals. The park is the perfect combination of green and classroom space to host an Advanced Wilderness Life Support. Join us for a weekend of wilderness medicine education at the Moccasin Lake Nature Park, hosted by the University of South Florida. Students will enjoy the didactic lectures and practical skills lessons lead by instructors experienced in Advanced Wilderness Life Support.
Our AWLS curriculum is a mix of didactic and hands-on wilderness medicine training, building the skills to handle a variety of emergencies in austere environments. Our curriculum is developed specifically for medical professionals, guaranteeing a high-caliber level of wilderness medical instruction. Students will bolster their pre-existing medical knowledge with the latest techniques in patient assessment, treatment, and evacuation from remote, wilderness areas.
With the Advanced Wilderness Life Support certification students earn 20.5 hours of Category 1 CME, as well as Wilderness Medical Society Fellowship credit.
