Wilderness Medicine CME – White Mountains, NH

With access to an extensive trail network, guests can hike to the southern Presidential peaks, rock climb nearby Elephant Head, or play in Arethusa or Ripley Falls with family and friends in tow.  Follow historic footsteps as you climb to the summit of nearby Mount Willard for one of the most legendary views in the White Mountains. Course Description:

➢ Earn your Advanced Wilderness Life Support certification
➢ Learn the latest practical hands-on wilderness medicine skills for patient assessment, treatment, and evacuation protocols
➢ Practice your skills in live scenarios with our expert instructors
➢ Obtain up to 20.5 hours of category 1 CME*
➢ Receive Wilderness Medical Society Fellowship credits

The AWLS curriculum consists of:

❖ Patient assessment
❖ Trauma
❖ Medical problems
❖ Infectious disease
❖ Head, Ear, Eye, Nose, Throat, Skin
❖ Animal & insect Bites
❖ Musculoskeletal injuries
❖ Wound management
❖ Water treatment
❖ Hyperthermia, hypothermia & frostbite
❖ Medical kits
❖ Lightning
❖ HAPE/HACE
❖ Dive Medicine

This 3-day course balances didactic lectures with hands-on instruction to most effectively train students in managing medical situations in austere environments. This course is designed for licensed medical professionals (MD, EMT, PA, NP, RN, etc) or medical professionals in training who have an interest in expanding their medical knowledge of wilderness medical pathology and in enhancing their practical skills in a wilderness environment.

CME Credit:

With the Advanced Wilderness Life Support certification students earn 20.5 hours of Category 1 CME, as well as Wilderness Medical Society Fellowship credit.

Registration for this course includes coursework and Lodging including Full buffets for breakfast and dinner, and deli lunches to go.
